Starving yourself has become a dangerous trend when it comes to losing weight. 1 in 200 women in the US suffer from anorexia. And statistics show that prematurely 20% of everybody who suffers from the illness die as a result of it, either from starvation, suicide or heart problems.

                                            

Anorexia is an eating disorder where people starve themselves. Especially girls develop anorexia around the onset of puberty but also boys and men. Who would think that 10% diagnosed with anorexia are guys? People suffering from the sickness have an intense fear of getting fat. From this fear they develop unhealthy eating habits. Individuals who suffer from the sickness have a very dramatic weight loss, and even though they are no more than skin and bone they are convinced that they are fat. Common techniques used for loosing weight are extensive exercise, intake of laxatives and not eating.

Anorexic’s suffer from dramatic weight loss, refusing to eating in public, they often cook large meals for others while refusing to eat any of it themselves, scaring on the knuckles from induced vomiting and sicknesses caused from under nutrition and dehydration.

 

Anorexia is also a problem when it comes to media. You can see dangerously thin models and super stars with the so-called “perfect” bodies, making people who don’t have slim “perfect” figures take drastic measures to achieve it. It is no secret what methods models and celebrities use to stay slim, but it is never put out in public.

 

There are other ways to get a fit body, without starving yourself. You can eat food with negative calories, for example carrots and strawberries along with water and steamed vegetables, which are ideal for getting all the nutrition you need and still lose weight.
